Preliminary Task (Fast slow editing video)

For this task we were told to go out and film eachother standing still and experiment with camera movement, we were then given a soundtrack of which we had to implement the clips we had filmed prior to editing; my group did this blind without knowning what type of song we were going to have to sync the clips to and as a result we came up with this. From this preliminary task I have learnt the importance of filming many clips to give a more diverse range of shots and have a variety to work with, this would allow us to keep the video fresh so we wouldnt have to recycle clips due to running out of ones we hadn't used yet. From this I have also learned a few new editing skills and a basic understanding of using 'Final cut' I had never used final cut prior to the task and so it was a learning curve for me, even so I was able to use it quite well and had learned a few editing techniques such as colour filters and clip rotation. My group used colour filters and clip rotation to try and match up to the music and visuals, the combination creates a feel of disorientation and confusion which is what we were going for.
